Horsetail Falls Spring

Horsetail Falls Spring

This stunning phenomena was made famous by photographer Galen Rowell. Occurring in the later part of February, several things have to happen. During this time of year the sun setting to the west is at a particular latitude allowing the sun’s rays to cut through the valleys to the west. Next there has to be enough snow melt to cause the waterfall which is not a year round occurrence. Truly a beautiful sight to behold.
